I bought 6 barred rock pullets at rural king, this one caught my eye today as it looks completely different from the others. At first I thought I just got a cockerel but the more I think about it the comb just doesn’t look right for a barred rock. At this point they are probably pushing 3 weeks old. Any thoughts?

I realize that, that’s why I always assumed a hatchery would keep similar breeds separate at hatch but I don’t necessarily know how hatcheries operate.

....... not disputing that, just wanted an opinion on the chick and was making conversation
Also, having previously shopped with rural king, the stores I have gone to do not restrict access to their chick bins like some stores do. They simply use open top stock tanks that individuals can reach into at will . I have personally witnessed individuals pick up chicks from one bin, carry it around look out it, whatever and then set it down in whatever bin is closest.....often putting it in the incorrect been. Because this breed looks so similar to a Barred rock they could easily simply get scooped up and put in the box without anyone employee or purchaser realizing that it was not the correct breed. What I'm getting at is this is not necessarily in air at the hatchery
