My rooster walks around with me all the time but keeps his distance.
At one time he started acting somewhat aggressive. So i caught him cradled him in my arms securely so he couldn't flap his wings. No to hurt him

but to pet him. Basically show him who's boss.Never show that you fear him, if you show fear he wins. After about 3 10 minute petting sessions he should be aware you are boss.
Give it a try. Don't let him win

Once is one time too many, around here those go to the stew pot(dumplings, gumbo, or dressing) too many others out there to keep and breed this nastiness into a line. J/S

I would like to do that to him, but I want him for breeding (He is my best looking rooster), so what can I do to get him to calm down/stop attacking me?

PS we tried holding down on the ground by the waddles and then chasing him off...

Okay, I'll try that... How many times did you have to try this before he knew you were boss?

Sorry i haven't gotten back. maybe 3 times. Then maybe 1 or twice a month.
