Barred Rocks!!

I have 6 Plymouth/Barred Rocks. Two roosters and 4 ladies. Very friendly and pretty chickens. I have been getting these weird colored eggs that I can't tell who's laying and just caught one of my Plymouth Rocks laying a small pink tinged egg. Very interesting!

Does anyone have pictures of their eggs from a Plymouth Rock?

Here is a picture of one of our Roosters.

Just got my 1st 2 barred rocks lat night. They are 24 wks old and the lady said they have been laying. I'm sure due to moving and getting familiar with new people and places, they will not lay for me for at least a few days. Can't wait to see how well they lay compared to my leghorns and sex links...

The eggs will increase in size as they get older. The first eggs are always the smallest. My Rocks lay eggs that are anywhere from a pinkish color to a light beige.

The 2 barred rocks I bought the other day, much to my surprise have been laying everyday since I got them. I thought for sure that due to moving and new environment/ chickens that would stop laying for a few days. They have done really well though.

I love my Buff Barred Rock hens....they are great.....Very funny and friendly.

Psssst. They are Buff Plymouth Rocks or just Buff Rocks. Not Buff Barred Rocks.

Is this a rumpless barred rock or a late blooming rooster? She is 23 weeks old and has neither layed nor crowed. The bones below her vent aren't more than a finger spread.
