If you want to show, keep a female, that way if you decide to continue in showing and want to breed for specific type, you can cross her to the best male you can afford. If you keep a male, you might have to buy an expensive grump if you want to try and breed.

All that said, I thought Stars markings looked symmetrical, and she had nice length of back and ears.

I know nothing about showing bassets but I think Missy looks the most like what the general public expects out of a basset hound.
