Holy chickens I missed a lot on this thread! My new computer still hasn't arrived and then my "smart" phone decided to die, so I've been disconnected from the world for quite some time.

It's good to see lots of new folks here on the thread,

Like Cheryl mentioned, we LOVE pictures!

I'm entirely to paranoid to bring any of my birds to a poultry show, with the risk of diseases always possibly being present, it does sound like a great way to network and get folks interested in chooks though.

I wanted to share some updated pictures of my English Orpingtons, too. My girls are giving me eggs daily but I've been banned from incubating anything else at least until September... so for now no fat Orpy babies. Soon though!

Some recent pictures, mostly of Neville, he's almost 8 months old now.

Blurry picture, but it gives you an idea of his shape.

Neville and Elizabeth, she's become one of his "favorites", her feathers are starting to get a big ruffled near the base of her tail. I plan on putting saddles on a few of them soon.

millies...hmm some have yellow, some not, some changing...it's a process on this variety for sure

You want to breed for yellow legs, if I remember correctly, all Leghorn varieties should have yellow shanks. I'd love to see more pictures as they mature.

Actually, when you are ready to cull if you have any pink or white shanked females that you want to rehome let me know. It would be great to start a Mille Ameraucana project using a bird that didn't have yellow legs. It would make it much easier to breed back towards the SOP.

Your birds are so gorgeous! They are on my want to have list if we ever get our house w/land down in the Santa Cruz area!

Thank you for getting back to me about Lemon Drop. We have been calling him LD, the Roo, and Big Boy! He is not crowing yet but making some loud vocalizations! He is also showing some interest in the girls but runs whenever one of the hens gives him the stink eye. We are enjoying watching him grow but do need to rehome him back to you in the next couple of weeks. I'll email you to arrange the details!

silly, of course I know I need yellow legs... for my three breeds I've almost got the SOP memorized, that is for the basic birds because my colors aren't apa accepted yet except the sppr
