Bay Area BYCers!

Too bad I don't have a picture of me taking that picture...hahaha.....I guess I'm having a hard time growing up. Some like to call it a "mid life" crises, but I'm way past midlife and I started doing this when I was 16. I am competitive as heck and with motorsports there is no judge...just extremely accurate timing devices that have more zero's than you need. I won a race by 1/10000th of a second once.

I saw the entries for the show and they will have 200 birds. Not a lot, but good diversity of breeds. There will be quite a few turkeys. Maybe 15 waterfowl. Out of the 200 entered, 150 will be large fowl chickens. 150 LF is actually pretty good for a show this early. This is too early for most of us to show chickens. The event in general should be awesome!

150 different LF breeds? Or just 150 LF birds altogether?

Either way, how exciting! My partner tried to push me into entering a few of our English Orpingtons into the show... but I chickened out.

I don't think I've reached that level of comfort yet, or if I ever will, to exhibit my birds. I will have pictures of my cell phone though!

jtaylormade, thanks! I hope to see many of you there.

For those of you coming up for the Heirloom show... I have a lovely Chantecler I got in the John Blehm Chick order in March (oops--NOT an Ameraucana! Tee hee...

). Anyway, she is a nice bird, gorgeous feathering, and just started to lay a taupe egg! Use to free-ranging, takes treats from hand, comes when called, but wary of being picked up! (Not flighty at all, she just doesn't like being held.) I named her Gingersnap for her pretty color. Nothing wrong with her...except I don't need this breed! If you'd like her, email or PM me! $35.00

Erin, I'm about 3 hours from you but my husband works for Union Pacific RR and they're doing a bridge in your area. I have some EE eggs I could send with him Monday if you could meet him somewhere to pick them up, if no one closer can get you some.
Pam

Didn't get any response from this so I guess you don't need my eggs.

I've kept them in a cool spot for you but since I didn't get a response they need to get in the fridge.

A few pictures from this morning.

Thanks Steff! I LOVE the eggs Celia lays, they're always slightly different shades of green. She's laid one egg that was half dark olive and half teal/aqua blue! It was eaten before I could take a picture though...

Jeremy you always have such nice pictures.............My Lavender, Black Split, & B/B/S Ams came out of a much more mint green egg. Maybe if I x them to a BCM I could get the Olive. They are not laying yet but should be close..............
