Bay Area BYCers!

Some of my AM have been 36 week before they started. But yeah, they sound like duds. I lost all 3 of mine, so I'll just add them to my freeloaders. LOL

Jeremy I have one from this years birds laying. Oh wait, two, but the second one I can't figure out cause I got an olive egg and shouldn't have. The other has started moulting with the others she's with, but I did get several eggs and have 3 chicks from her right now. She's a bantam Wellie and the chicks are mixed from a Pene roo. Working on egg color, since the bantams lay a much lighter egg than the LF.

Oh Cheryl she has moved on and is now in love with the golden laced lol.

Everyone is doing well and getting big!! Mostly still gangly dinos except for the biggest two they are almost all chick now heehee.
Near as I can tell I have one cull who has a single comb (which in this case probably means shell just go into my main flock with the golden laced the ee and the Banty in brooder with them when it's time to integrate) and one boy I hope (that's more from attitude than looks)

Most of them are still sweet and cuddly though a few have teenager brattitudes!

By the way I have been dying to ask about your wellie babies but my husband has forbidden me! Oops!!!

Oh yes it is a disease... GOOD TIMING though, the welsummers just started hatching last night, 6 out so far - 3 more pipped. They are darling and I love that they can be somewhat sexed. They are from Happychooks amazing flock. Her rooster is the most handsome welsummer guy I've seen

Oh Dawn that makes me sad I had high hopes for that silver girl. She's so beautiful.....here's hoping she's not a freeloader much longer!!!!

Really, don't give up. They will lay. Just about the time you decide to get rid of them, so just hold on. Seriously it took some of my birds a long time. The 36 weeks was the longest, but remember they say the olnger it take, the healthier the bird later on. It'll happen. Maybe it's just the fact that they are a work in progress and things are not up to speed with them, but it'll happen. When it does I need hatching eggs. So, don't quit.

There was a time that Wellies were going to be my only breed. My girls are so sweet. Good luck with the hatch.

Our Blehm Silver, Amelia, isn't laying yet, either! And she is a flighty little thing. She flies onto the top of the coop which is 8-10 ft off the ground. I'm just glad that she hasn't tried flying over the 6 ft fences! She isn't the only one of our spring pullets who aren't laying yet. We have an OE and a Blue Langshan who are just 1-3 weeks younger than her and 3 Speckled Sussex who are around 6 weeks younger who aren't laying yet. We sure aren't getting very many eggs right now.
