Bay Area BYCers!

I have a dud bird. Like actual dud. Poor little thing bless her heart. She is a Colombian Wyandotte, sits in the nest box and sings the happy egg song. So we humor her we go to nest box and fuss over her wooden eggs. Lol. Give her treats and pet her like she did a very good job. Almost everyone else is accounted for I'm getting 5-6 a day with 1 broody and 1 molting horribly so Not bad. Going to throw a few eggs in the bator and see how fertility is.

How sad!

What a strange, random thing to happen! Poor birds!

And given that there were 2,500 in the truck, chances are that they were spent hens on their way to the soup factory. Poor things never caught a single break in their little lives. Sad. Hopefully the survivors will be adopted and live out their lives as yard birds.
