Hey Guys,
First of all, thanks for all the good thoughts.
Second, THANK YOU CHERYL for getting me in to see Dr. Wendy, who is super nice and was very good to my Bridget.
Based on just a physical exam and a fecal, Dr. Wendy wasn't quite sure what was wrong with Bridget. She wasn't overly concerned with the crop, but did inject something called Emer-aid into the crop to help move things along. There was nothing stuck in the vent. And the fecal turned out negative, so no parasites. Something odd she noticed was a slightly enlarged abdomen where she could feel something soft, possibly liquid or shell-less eggs. She also thought Bridget was on the skinny side, which is weird since she is a little piggy. I'm so hoping it isn't internal laying.
Anyway, Dr. Wendy will be gone this weekend and won't be able to call me until Tuesday with the blood test results. But to be on the safe side, she prescribed the antibiotic Baytril. Bridget is warm in my bathroom, but I'm not sure if she's eaten because I had to leave for work right after I returned home. There is some poop in there. I'm just supposed to keep her warm and hydrated and medicated. Other than that, I feel so helpless. She seems more active than this morning, but she seems kind of miserable all by her lonesome.
I feel overwhelmed, especially with my husband about to leave for a 5-day conference, AND four of my kitties need daily pilling AND one kitty will need an enema twice while hubby is away. And now I have anxiety over Bridget. I'm trying not to be a baby by asking him to cancel his plans, but I know I'll have a hard time once the work week starts AND once I'm alone and worrying by myself.
Just had to vent.
