Just dealing with some things right now.

I have 11 eggs in lockdown, due tomorrow. All BCMs but one. I got two eggs from my bantam Wellie who is with a Pene roo, but only one made lockdown.

I think I only have 2 more hatches before the Easter hatch. Have more after, but this is a slow down. LOL

Ditto, Jeremy!! So stinkin' cute!

One of my silver Am's (little owl) is super curious and falls asleep on my leg when I pet him/her.

The Silvers and Lavs have little bitty wings compared to the Wheatens, Buff and White. I mean like penguin little! (OK, some feathers are popping out, but the others have TWICE the wing size!!) Normal?? One Lav has what is called in the horse world, "cow'hocks", but stands, eats, plays just fine. Just splays out a feet a bit and doesn't stand straight. I'll see what develops there...

fortunately, I took lots of notes and pics, so even little things are helping me figure it out. maybe when I am less tired it will all make sense.

Don't do it. If it's not meant to hatch it won't. Almost everytime I've helped a chick out it turns out splay legged or having some other problem. Not good for u or the chick. IMO

Take a shower. Do chores. Run errands. That keeps me away from the bator. I know it's really really hard especially since this is your first hatch. Call me if u need info

Actually, I'm just going to go to work. One chick hatched while I was eating breakfast. The two pips that are left are the dark-egged side-pipper, and the Buff Orp. They will be fine. or, they won't. Either way.

Hoping for two more pips while I'm at work.

Your first hatch has got to be one of the most amazing chickening moments, its thrilling every time but those first little ones hold a special place in your heart.
