Bay Area BYCers!

I would love to meet up at the show! I would prefer to meet on Wed since it is my day off work but can arrange my schedule if Tues or Thurs works better for everyone else!

Oh I wish this wasn't a weekday thing. BUMMER!

Would be nice to see if there are any Modern Games for sale. I've been trying to get some hatched out for Makayla nd not one egg shipped has done a thing.

On a good note. I have a hatch starting. Keeping my fingers crossed for FBCMs and SPPRs to hatch is nothing else.

OK I haven't seen Ziggy do anything with the girls since they got saddles put on. Hoping I'm just missing it. I read that they will be protecting them during mounting, but I don't want it to be INSTEAD of mounting. Poor guy looked so excited to be back with his girls, but I cracked up when he saw the saddles and did a double take at them and me, like "ummmm......Those don't work for me!" LOL

Fanny had broken back feathers when she got here and Ziggy just loves her too much. I seperated them a few weeks ago and I figured this would be better and they'd have more combined space this way. I went ahead and made one for each in case he decided to turn his attentions totally to Sadie and cause broken feathers there too. They don't even notice them on. Just had them a few days and it was maybe a couple of hours and they were fine with them.

Hi, I'm Brian, a newcomer here. I l three lovely chickens, Sona, Regina and Natasha. I live in Richmond need some help from Bay Area chickeneers.

I am going to France in September to work for six months and we need someone to foster our babies while we are away.

Sona is 1.5 years old and a prodigious layer (she is the black one). She is smart and beautiful, but a little sneaky (she is always trying to figure how to get out of the enclosure).

Regina is 5 months old (the white one), but already very large and laying sporadically. She is very sweet and protective of her broodmate, Natasha, the small speckled one. We are worried that something happened to Natasha when she was a peep, because she has not grown much and is not showing signs of maturing. She is also kind of slow and follows Regina wherever she goes. But she doesn't make any trouble and mostly just lays down.

They are wonderful birds and we would like them to go to a good home. We would be willing to split them, but Natasha should really stay with Regina.

We will supply food for the period we are away, pay any medical bills, and if you have a truck you can even use our very study chicken house! We live in Richmond California near I-80. Please contact us if you can take any or all of these birdies or pass on the info to some who might want them.

If you like you can call me Brian 510 292 1958

Thanks, Backyard Chickeners!

Yeah! People coming up to our neck of the woods! I have been reading about this event for the past two months, but just bits and blurbs.
Let's meet at the Omelet Express in 'Railroad Square" in Santa Rosa!! I think 4th street, on the west side of the hwy...

Excellent...!

heirloom show, Walt responded to me with this info

I was wondering why it was during the week too. I just received an advance program and it seems to be a trade show. That would explain why the middle of the week. I suspect the poultry show is more of an educational/attraction than anything else. They have never done this before.

The show will be judged by the APA SOP. You should bring the non standard breeds/colors to show folks what is out there.

Hi,

... just a suggestion: How about meeting at Willie Bird's on Santa Rosa Avenue, just a bit north of COSTCO?? It's closer to the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, and there is loads of free parking and good food too. They can accommodate a larger group (like putting tables together, etc.)

Of course, Omelet Express is closer to Western Farm Center, if anyone wants to go over there before or after the meet up. 4th Street and the surrounding area is metered parking.

Good idea, Daphne! The location of Willie Bird's is very easy to the Fairgrounds, so true!

Hey, I posted this on the Ameraucana Thread, but does anyone have this is any of your Ameraucanas or other breeds? My 17 week old Blehm AM, Norbert, has a funky iris. See?? Like a tiger eye... anyone know anything about this? He can see just fine. And hear. And eat. Etc.!
