I've decided since I started hatching again I might as well keep going for awhile...

I have more Orps going into lockdown next week from my flock, plus hopefully some more pure English Orp eggs that will result in some Black chicks in a few weeks too from another line. I'm also thinking about getting Buff Laced Brahma eggs as well as some Ameraucanas. I figured the bator is plugged in so I might as well keep it full!

You'll love the brahmas, so pretty and so sweet!

Moved all the yellow legged mille fleur leghorns into one pen so I can see what I've got to work with. Surprisingly they are really coming along nicely! Very pretty feathering and good type so far. I've been spending more time with this bunch and they are becoming much less flighty. running over for yummy treats, responding to my clicking etc. Really exciting.

I'll be keeping many of the hens with white legs for my layer pen, and the extras will be for sale.

I'm just excited to have babies in the brooder again... the 2 months without having any in the house just didn't seem right.

I keep finding myself looking at egg auctions thinking, "Hm, I wonder if I should try those... or maybe a few of these". I've restrained myself for the most part. I'm going to stick with my Orps, maybe in a few new colors and then work on my Ameraucanas.
