and would love to join all of you! You have all provided such good advice and encouragement that I would really like to put faces with names.

I'm delivering 6 buff-laced brahma chicks before the show, so probably can't make the brunch, but we'll see everyone at the show, i'm sure.

Anyone need some brahma chicks let me know, 3 more just hatched this morning, I can bring them up - got this really cool heating pad for the car!

Well, Willow passed on in the night. I've sent her to UC Davis for a necropsy. Found out that you shouldn't tell Fedex what you're shipping or they won't take the package. I sent her UPS instead without saying what was inside. I am glad to see that all my other girls look very healthy and energetic today.

I will be coming up to the Heirloom Expo tomorrow. I hope to be there in time for brunch. I look forward to seeing all my chicken peeps again.

Cheryl, any news about your Orp?

Just sending today, she's been in the fridge all weekend, I didn't want to send her and have her sit over the weekend

She hadn't laid for a while, maybe egg bound

And I can bring up any of about a dozen gorgeous cockerals if anyone is needing an extra - I have 3 boys from my bantam millie fleur/calico cochin project, 3 spectacular orloffs, golden laced & silver laced brahmas, a BLRW, a Coro Sussex, and a beautiful huge barred cochin. Pics available - just say the word! The boys are pretty - had a wild turkey hen sitting on the fence this morning checking them out.

We got our first blue egg today!!!!! Whoo Hoo!!!! It is Cosette's and is the cutest little blue pullet egg! She is the first to lay out of our six pullets who are 22-25 weeks old. She has been squatting for me ever since LD left and today was in and out of the nest box all morning long. Hopefully, the others will catch on and start laying, too. One of the others will probably lay their first egg while we are camping in Petaluma this week! I'll have to remind my DS 20 to check for eggs while we are gone!
