Karen I was on my way and Vanessa called from the greyhound station. I left her in the car while I stopped at JS West. LOL Thought "That'll teach her!" haha But she found me. Neither of us really had enough to get Kayla a pair of the MG's but I stopped there today and they had 2 roos, so bought her one. Couldn't pass up the price. Then I went to put him in quarentine and he started sneezing! I have Oxine coming in this week, so sitting here trying to decide if I take him back or try to treat. argggg I don't have a fogger, so I'd have to just mix as a spray and add to drinking water. OMG I'll probably just have to take him back. I've talked to a lot of people who swear by Oxine and I've read up on it a lot, but I hate to use him as a science experiment. I just hate to think of what would happen to him if I return him.

You met Taylor! I saw him this morning and he mentioned he met you. We both agree you are a sweetheart!

Vanessa and I couldn't walk away from the Calls. She says "MOM! awwww looky, will they get bigger or stay tiny?" If I had room I tell ya, I'd be getting some.

I'm going to call the person I met with the white Rocks today or tomorrow. I can't afford more than one or two, but I'd like to have them before the real hatching season starts. She raises for show and everyone said her birds are HUGE. Are ya taking notes Cheryl??? LOL If you want I can post a pic and you can let me know if they are something you want. I also want a couple of other lines, so I'll still be looking around. These are available now though.

I have 2 new pairs of OEGBs! They looked so much like Lowrider, my Jap that I had to. So tiny they take up NO space. Here I need to thin out around here and I have 4 more. I need intervention. Big time!

After the sun starts to set, I'm going to drag some boards to the back for my raised beds. I cleared a good sized area. I'm planting for us and the animals. A friend of BIll's said she'd look around for plastic to cover. Hope my ghetto greenhouses work. I'm also setting up small beds or buckets in the runs this year where they'll have fresh things available all year. Hopefully.

You don't have a fogger, but... You can pick up a CHEEP atomizer ie. Humidifier that runs on a vibrating atomizer plate. Hydroponic stores sell the disc atomizer for about 10 bucks.. they have different sizes etc.... Put it in a dish of the medication mixed with water and turn it on. It works well.

good luck with the bird.

You don't need intervention - you need more Japanese Bantams! Here is my wonderful breeding trio:

And here are some of their babies from about 6 weeks ago, with super-surrogate Puff Mama. The babies are bigger now - about 15 weeks old, and getting that distinctive U-shaped curve to their back. There are 3 pairs, and they are absolutely darling!

I have more recent pics on my computer at home if anyone is interested...

OH man...I visited the mille fleur leghorn flock today, it's been only about 2 weeks since I last saw them, but they are really starting to blossom. Some real lookers in the rooster dept (and way to many of them, I might add) the girls are all still pretty young, so I'm not so sure of their quality

pictures to follow

Mille Fleur Leghorn photo album 10.17.11 They are 4 1/2 - 6 1/2 months old - all the ladies are on the younger side. I know they need work, especially the ladies tails, but this is turning out to be a fun project!
