Bay Area BYCers!

I dunno yet Karen, I figured I'd post the list and see how much interest there was. We would have to at least meet the 25 chick minimum... which I think would be pretty easy. I'm thinking about ordering 25 chicks myself.

Hopefully a few more people see the list over the next few days and we can get something finalized by the end of the month? Maybe? I dunno...

I really want some LF Polish though. I miss my crazy afro chickens.

Hi Jeremy,
If you do place an order, we could have a mini-meet up at my house in Berkeley like last year, unless there is a more central location???

Daphne, I think that was pretty perfect last year! We'll see who joins in on the order and try to pick a location that's close for everyone.

Are you planning on coming to Stockton?

Hi Jeremy,
I plan to go to the Stockton show, unless it is pouring rain and it is unsafe to drive!!

****
Kim,
There is a Rabbit and Guinea Pig Show at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa, this Saturday. I think there will also be a two day show in Turlock at the end of February.

Dawn, I'm not sure exactly when we need to have our order in, Mr. Urch does accept chick orders through March. To get the breeds we want I feel like the earlier we submit an order, the better.

What breeds have caught your eye?!

Jeremy,
Mostof you guys are closer to you. Maybe I should just order mine for here & anyone in my area could order with me if they want. I see that he has Dominiques. The ones I was to pick up at the Stockton Show coming down from Oregon got killed by a predator so I need some of them too. If necessary I could order the 25 needed myself with the different breeds I need to add to. How do I contact him.
It is so nice having a recommendation from someone you trust. Thanks Jeremy & Walt. I feel confident in ordering from Mr. Urch now. Anyone out there that Turlock is closer to than the Bay Area is welcomed to add to my order. I am sure you have easily got your 25 minimum covered Jeremy. I already travel more for chickens than any other traveling I have ever done. Berkeley is just a few extra miles but I can save one more trip by ordering myself. I will never willingly miss a chickenstock & in fact have already ordered & stored all the raffle prizes for the next one that I am going to donate.......So much fun....... Look forward to this order as if I needed more chickens........LOL
I had 2 experienced 'chicken lovin" breeders spend the day here at my house yesterday. What fun...................Before they left I got alot of recommendations & now have alot of new work to do. When my son gets up I will put him to work moving chickens.......LOL. One of the breeders was kind enough to select a group of my better dark BCM pullets to put into a pen with BigBoy so that is the first order of the day.We cut out 5 or 6 nice, but dark pullets to put with him, well colored, in a breeding pen & have alot of other moving around to do to. I am going to sit down with paper & pen & lay out the new arrangements now.
I have 15 birdhouse kits to cut today for a garden club workshop on Thursday. It is so cute watching these little ladies build these birdhouse treasures. I make sure they are usuable & to specs & have a cleanout . I think some of these ladies have never used a hammer & screwdriver before. So fun to watch......LOL I did the same thing for 2 other garden clubs in the past & got a kick out of it......LOL
You all have a great day.
