Bay Area BYCers!

So brave Mama had her babies out at 2 days old to adventure to their first mud puddle.
These are the splash Marans and Olive eggers eggs I got from Dawn.  5 out of 6 hatched, couldn't be happier.

I know these arent chickens but they keep us busy too.  You can see the almost useless boys :p they are the larger bee with the HUGE EYES.

Look at the bee on the bottom, her saddle bags of pollen are so big I cant see how she flew back :)

Your bee pictures would make great jig saw puzzles. Can you imagine putting those together from 1000 pieces???......LOL

Cheryl,
What great progress. I am so happy for you . I wish I had been able to help. Even as little as 10 years ago I would have had much to offer. I am not complaining.................... Getting older does have some advantages. It's just that the physical disability is not one of them.............LOL

Thanks and I feel like I'm 100 years old this morning...every part of my body hurts, my hands are cut up from hardware cloth...working all day in the 90+ degree weather is really hard....

Someday share those advantages with me...I can't think of a whole lot of advantages other than a small discount if you belong to AARP.

I have someone from my one of my garden clubs looking for Bronze Turkeys. She would like a pair or so if anyone knows of any please let me know. I have located a hen nearby but no mate for it. She would really like to have a pair or so.
Thanks

Believe me Walt the advantages I speak of are NOT physical, but emotional. Accepting the fact of the things I can no longer do had relieved me of so much pressure of all my younger years when I was pushing to do far more than anyone person is capapble of. I am now reaping the harvest of all I did back then & can relax & enjoy it more. I still have goals but don't fight with them so much & the grandkids are the greatest. I have always said that grandkids are our reward for having been parents. The stuggles we went through trying to be the best we could at raising our kids are now paying off in the joy of having grand kids.

Back from the Southland!
I was in Orlando for a Nursing conference mid April, when Mom in SoCal had a heart attack (or two... no one will tell us), followed by valve replacement & bypass x2. Her recovery was rocky & we're still not sure how this will end up. My Sister is there with her & I'm back up here & back to work.
I can't recall if I posted this before...it's been a nightmare & a blur. I used to wish my parents had stopped at two kids (I was the first), but now I am sooo thanksful there are four of us! We blocked out time on the calendar for each of us to be there, & it's killing me to miss Mothers' Day with her, but my guys at home were more than ready for me to get back. Too bad we don't have a TGV/bullet train. Bless my son & husband for managing the animals & egg business. They are pros now!
I'm very sad to see that Larry died. How lucky we are to have known him. I'm sure his family will continue the business in the same spirit.
Glad to see all the activity here, Cheryl your new chook digs look great!
Hugs to all,
Laurie
