Bay Area Meet Up/Chicken Swap - Sunday October 10th!

We've had really mild weather EXCEPT of course THIS week, and by Oct 9th it should be cooler...but you never know

Mid day 20 on my hatch...no pips yet, why oh why am I so impatient

Well, this location is a bit south but it's right off the 101 and 280/680 freeways http://www.pruschfarmpark.org . You know, the giant barn you can see from the freeway? It's certainly animal friendly!

The Harvest Festival at Emma Prusch Farm Park is October 2nd. If we wanted to participate in the Festival, we can get a booth for free, bring our feathered lovlies for all of us (and the public) to enjoy and admire, promote BYC and/or svchickens yahoo group, and bring pot luck for ourselves. I can donate 200 poultry shaped "fun bands" to hand out to kids.

The Festival is huge and draws huge crowds. Animals booths and activities are big hits at the festival. There will be lots of 4H booths there. It might be nice to have an animal related group there for grown ups, too.

OR we could see if we could have a get together the next weekend on the 9th. There are spacious fields, shaded picnic areas, new playground, old farm equipment for the kids to play on, a large animal barn, poultry area, orchard, and gardens. It's a nice park.

Anyway, just a thought.

I think the second weekend of October is best, the 9th or 10th.
I personally have to vote for the 10th, I'll be working onthe 9 all morning!

I like the way that place sounds, very cute! What city is it in?

The park is in San Jose. It's where "three" freeways intersect. People coming from any side of the bay can get there easily. Just take the 101, 260, or 680 and take the King exit from any of those freeways.

Yeah, San Jose wouldn't be too fair for those of you in the Northern Bay, or for the folks from Sacramento.
What will it take to please everyone!?!?
