My opinion is tom, my hens' snoods are maybe half as long and they are 5 months old.

Lol, alright guys -- the final guesses then. I'll let you know when I do! I am guessing tom also, but my boyfriend still says hen. We shall see...

Well....my sister swore she heard a gobble when they came to visit. I haven't heard anything and it has been a couple weeks!!
No eggs either! The only new thing is a little beard growing in. Hmm....

Try gobbling at them and see what happens. Explain to your neighbours in advance what you are about to do.

I'll snap a picture of him (I believe it is a male) tomorrow...the snood really hangs! The beard is just little feather quills poking out like a burr.
I am not too good at gobbling, lol -- when I try he just stares at me like I'm an idiot.
