Could you see any life tonight? I’m sure it’s so much harder with broodys. ❤️ Hoping S12 pulls through!
I peeked at just a couple today since I had 2 girls hogging the only free nest box and the 5 that are "laying" (Ditzy just started again and Annabelle lays here and there and figures those are the 2 that hogged the free box) all had to lay at the same time...... so some hoped in with the broodys to lay... So I had to get those eggs out. But I will say 1 kept Fajita's eggs warm while she was off the nest getting food and water. haahaa! so that is a bonus to that........

but anyways......... some I am 99.99% sure are clear...... there were a couple that were darker but I didn't see veins or even a "spot" the egg just looked darker inside. I am pretty sure these are all duds....

I will check again on Sunday night most likely since I am out on Sat night. Hopefully I will see some growth in a couple of them.....

At least the hen sitting on S12 isn't a part timer. 😊
LOL They both go back to the wrong box sometimes. don't ask me HOW. I have 3 boxes. Theirs have 10 eggs each in them... the other box does have 2 fake eggs (I tried to take the fake egg out of the boxes a while ago and they all freaked out and acted like they had no clue what to do so I put them back in).

And I will say Nugget only goes out every other day. I think maybe once or twice in the past 10 days she has gone out 2 in a row, and think both of those were when I had to move her for something so she runs out of the coop screaming her head off.... other than that it is every other day. Fajita goes out sometimes 2 in a row others every other.

I know many say to move them and lock them up but the ONE time I tried to block Ditzy off when she was broody she FREAKED out and at that time all I did was block off the coop door and she was a mess with yelling etc. it isn't worth it for me to stress them out so I just let them stay where they are and check my cameras and if I need to I move them back or get other eggs out from under them. Thankfully I only work part time so by the time they go out and I get home is normally about 1.5 hrs-2 hrs which happened with Ditzy too and hers developed and it was MUCH colder when she was brooding than it is now.

It’s tricky, but if you can manage to get a pic of any questionable ones this weekend…I’d love to see what I can see! (I play around with my shading options on the phone and it can help see a lot I didn’t see in the original photo.)

I did message the seller asking if she would do anything if NONE developed.... But like most shipped eggs from ebay the listing basically says to just leave feedback for how they were packaged since "anything can happen during shipping and the incubation process" to make a poor hatch. So I don't expect her to do anything but figured it didn't hurt to try. But I sent it last night and still haven't heard back. I did ask her hatch rate since many of the eggs seem porous and I read that many people don't have luck with those but also have seen a lot that have had luck. she said the last hatch she had 23/25 hatch....... so who knows.

Really thinking of putting some of Ditzy's under Nugget on Sunday. It will give her an extra 6 days to sit but she started sitting a few days after Hummer as it is so I think she will be ok.. But not sure if the eggs will be fertilized or if her butt fluff will get in the way of that. the last egg before she went broody was fertilized but that was now like 7 weeks ago so not sure how much fluffier she got since then. LOL

I am hoping to go out at dusk since inside the coop is darker at that time so maybe I can see more. I can see in Hummers egg when it is lighter out though. but her egg is also a very very pale blue/almost white it is so pale so maybe that is why? I will probably take any that I can tell for sure are clear (like Annabelle's is clear A1 I am almost pos) and check those.

I do have a question did you check fertility on the clear eggs you had or just checked for signs of life when you cracked them? I wasn't sure if after sitting for a bit under a hen if you could even see the spot anymore. I thought some I checked last time the yolks just broke when i cracked the egg.
