BCM Pullets plumage question

My ladies were EST DOB 6/14. Making them roughly 18 weeks.
None of them have copper in them, and all a beautiful, glossy, iridescent black. Lovely fluffy girls with a very calm demeanor. They're definitely not a cuddle chicken by any means but they're lovely to watch and give their couple a days a week treats to.
I know zero things about them and they seem to have a lot of breed information on this message board, along with all over the internet.

I, btw, didn't mean to purchase them. As they were in the assorted pullet bin at the end of the chick season at my local feed store here in Florida. It was supposed to be barred rocks, speckled sussex, an isa brown/a production red of some sort. I just let the feed store lady pick whichever barred rocks I was supposed to be getting out. She also didn't reeally look at their feet, and when I came back in two weeks later to get my feed I told her. She was surprised because no others were that way. It was meant to be! I guess for whatever reason before taking them home I didn't notice their fluffy feet until i put them in their brooder! And, that was the story about how I got an accidental two BCM.


So, when do they get their copper in their plumage? They're still fairly young, and not laying yet and not expecting them to lay any time soon. Our days in Florida have gotten shorter. Much shorter.

Can you post some pictures?
As far as I can tell, they should have that copper by now. Even just glints in the feathers under their earlobes, like this hen.

It's possible coming from a hatchery they won't be colored as impressively as the second picture. I have some Mars Bars pullets currently that are a cross of Cream Crested Legbars and Black Copper Marans. The coppering effect, feathering on the leg, and even the crest varies between the six of them.

I don't know where my local feed store source theirs from. The girl couldn't tell me where the owner purchases them.
That's interesting though. I mean, they're pleasant enough they don't mind a pick up quick here. I am now curious to see what colored eggs they will be laying in a couple of months.
