I have a BCM pullet that has brown tipped feathers, which I have now learned is mossiness! I’ve read that they have a recessive Wheaten gene.
Wheaten Marans are uncommon in my country, but I happen to have sourced a Wheaten Marans rooster. If I was to breed the cull pullet to the Wheaten rooster and breed offspring back to the roo, etc. would I end up with a project line of wheaten Marans or would it be a complete mess and fail tragically?
