Hope you have a wonderful vacation!
Congratulations on beating the mites and have a wonderful holiday!
Thank you! We postponed leaving for our holliday. Yesterday was 33 C and too warm to pack our stuff. We enjoyed the garden, fresh drinks and made a small bike tour nearby. Were we live it’s not bad to enjoy.

Plan is to go to make a tour through Switzerlands (so beautiful we love to go there once mire) and maybe we end up in the south part of the Alps in France near the lake of Annecy. I have never there before and people (a neighbour / @ManueB ) say it’s great area to hike.

The photos are still there but not possible to add with the tool unles I make screen shot.

While Annecy is lovely, I would really not recommend it during the summer holidays because it's way overcrowded. There are terrible traffic jams all around the lake. You would be better off camping a little further away, and going there just one day to visit. And technically it's still the Northern Alps, by the way 🙂.

We finally left on Tuesday in the afternoon, not feeling all too well on Monday, and needed to change our plans.

We didn’t make it to Switzerland and skipped the plans for Annecy.
Ended up in the south of Belgium after a 4 hour trip. We are near to Bouillon on a camp site at the border of the Semois river.
Today I slept a few hours during the day still feeling a bit tired. In the afternoon we make a tiny walk/hike with a couple of beautiful viewpoints.

Our neighbour and daughter are feeding the chickens for two weeks and when we come back, I’ll be the caretaker of our neighbour cats.

The caretakers will check on mites too. I was happy I didn’t see any for 4 days on a row, and hopefully they won’t come back.

View from the tent.

No chick photo’s to be expected for 12 more days.

We had a great time in the Ardennes. But the spot we had had a reservation and we made plans for another destination. Going south was no longer an option for us because of the heath in southern France and I’m still not feeling 100% fit. Therefore I like to limit travelling. After seeing a few lousy camp sides 🏕️ in Luxembourg, we ended up in Germany. The weather forecasts are good here. Around 24C and barely rain.

Is that a lake beyond the campsite? It looks lovely.

Yes, it’s a lake. I love the view from the tent. Unfortunately I find the weather not warm enough to swim and lay on the meadow (some people do) but its perfect for hiking. Yesterday we walked around the lake (4 km) and a bit more along the stream who’s feeding it.

My neighbour still hasn’t found any red mites and she said the chickens are doing fine. :wee

Wise choice. Camping above 30° is no fun ; and in most campings I've been to, they will keep the shadiest places for either their usual customers or people who intend to stay at least a whole week.
Glad to hear the chickens are doing well, and hope your health gets better !
