I too check 3 times a day. Once before work, when I get home, and when I put them to bed. Nothing in the AM, most when I get home, and an occasional at night. My 10 Golden Comets started laying 10 days ago and I've been given 30 eggs already. Up to 6 a day now and I don't think they are all laying yet. What GOOD girls! The first one came on Labor day. I went in to look and there it was and a noise behind me turned out to be Brownie she was sooo proud! So I had to pet her and squeeze her and hug her and love her. I raised 15 Cornish Cross with them I'll never do that again. Now that their butchered the comets have calmed down. Now when I get home and get out of the car one will stick it's head out of the coop door and I'll say Where's my babies and they all come out excited to get let out of the run and coop. Oh and to get petted and talked to. Their fun!
