Beak Deformity Hereditary?

Just a question I had when researching duck breeds to get. If you have a hen or drake with a beak deformity is it best practice to cull these ducks or at least not allow them to reproduce? I am speaking about ducks born with a deformity not those who got it from poor nutrition or injury. Please excuse my ignorance if this is a well known answer I did some searches but it was mostly people asking if specific birds will have a good life etc not how potential offspring could be effected

I wouldn’t allow them to reproduce as they could pass the deformity down.

better safe than sorry
hopefully you have other birds you can breed instead
