I recently noticed my girl was having problems eating- didn’t seem to be able to close her beak - then I realized her top beak seems curved? Never noticed that before - anyone know what this is or why it happened? She still seems to drink and she scratches around - She is older but always my friendly one but I notice she is lighter when I pick her up. Losing weight? Do I need to euthanize? Or is there a fix

Do you have a dog nail trimmer? She may benefit from taking a little bit off the tip of the upper beak and a little off the lower to match. Take a strong light and shine it through from the side of the beak so you can judge where the quick starts. You don't want to cut into that or you'll have bleeding and the hen will experience severe pain.

Have someone hold the hen wrapped in a towel so she will not flap and kick. It's especially important to hold the head perfectly still or you can slip and cut too much if she suddenly jerks her head.

If you don't think you can safely do this, leave it alone. As long as the top and bottom tips meet, she can drink and eat.
