No. i did that last time and i didnt think they were ever going to hatch. i dont even know what day she started. do any of y'all know?

So if she hatches a baby bird are you prepared to start hand feeding it - constantly? Better go get wild baby bird feed from vet or pet shop.

Could it be a kill deer, not sure if you have them there or not and not sure maybe they have speckeled eggs. Good luck

Ruth--thats going to suck if i have to feed it. do normal songbirds have a 21 day incubation period too or is theirs shorter?


Zoo- There are killdeers all over the place. i found a nest in the cow pasture just a few days ago. but their eggs are VERY speckledy. and this egg is a little larger.

Never looked for the eggs just seen them with babies. Come to think of it I haven't seen kill deers in years not since they reintroduced the wolf to MI. By the way I never got a say in that project I would of said NO Thanks. Sorry ranting for a minute LOL

Flo got off her nest today for a drink of water and i examined her eggs while she was out. they all felt heavyish. i figure she wouldnt have gotten off if they were going to start hatching any time in the near future.
