Bees in the chicken coop (video)

Oh I see the reason for the confusion. No that last part is just a still picture, half an hour later there were twice as many bees. Instead of taking another video I just took a pic and tacked it on at the end. Sorry about that.
No those bees were alive and well and are sleeping full tonight.
Tomorrow I am going to set the food up further away from the coop cuz we were swarmed today. The bees loved that mixture and went and told all their friends.

I have seen honey bees and am in Ohio. Will set up some mix.I love bees but I am not to happy about the bumble bees setting up house in my crawl space.Atleast those die off in the winter.

Just a suggestion; You might want to buy some screen from a home improvement store and screen what looks like your patio where your chickens are enclosed. That'll keep the bees and other bugs out too.

I had a lot of honeybees until about a month ago. For years, while no one had bees, the blooms on my oregano and mint were covered, and pollinating my tomatoes was a non-issue. The bees had taken a long empty rent house and made it their own. Eventually the owner checked on his house, sent in a beekeeper to relocate the hive. No more bees. I tried hand pollinating my tomatoes yesterday.

As a former beekeeper--thank you. Sugar water will be fine but you really should try to wean them off it--they need to find real nectar and pollen someplace else.
