Who did you get yours from? I had one booted bantam mille fleur hen that was sold to me as a d'uccles. About the only difference is that the booteds don't have beards or muffs. If yours don't have feathers between their wattles, they are probably booteds.

I got them from Mrs. Jayne. She called them D'Uccles. I really don't know much about the breed so thats why I was so happy this thread got started.

I just checked her website, and hers don't have beards or muffs either. I would say hers are booted bantams, which is not bad. True booted bantams are rare

So...all D'Uccles, no matter what, have beards? Or is it DQ if they are born without them? I don't show my chickens at all so I'm clueless about any breed of chicken besides Serama. We are actually showing for the first time this weekend!!! ...Not taking the Millies...just Seramas and one big black Australorp Roo who is gorgeous.

They should all have beards and muffs, but some of them have more than others. Yours don't look like they have any of either one, so that's why I think they are booteds. A d'uccles without a beard, or with a small beard, would be a DQ I would think, but I don't show any of mine either. Too many diseases out there

Thanks Shelley. I will try to post some more recent and BETTER pics of them soon. Check back tomorrow around this time and they should be up. I hope you are on!

Any feedback on the OP's birds pics? I know they don't show every angle you need but just from what you can see on those pics how do they look?
