Hello guys and girls,
I'm looking for some advice on my rooster of 4 years "Bob". Recently, he has been struck by some sort of illness. His tail feathers have completely fallen off, his comb has turned pale/pink, he has trouble keeping his eyes open, he has become less active, he doesn't make any sounds, and he seems to struggle standing. He still eats, and he hasn't fallen over yet. I've given him some fish oil and antibiotics but is there anything else I should be doing? Any ideas on whats wrong with him?

Thanks,

Hello Bobtherooster and

Can you provide any additional info to help us diagnose something likely?

What color and consistency are his poops?
Does he eat reluctantly, and little, or does he eat like he's starving?
Does he empty his crop normally or does it stay full or somewhat filled at all times?

Hope we can help in time. Best wishes.

Welcome to BYC. How old is he, and could he be in the middle of a molt? They do that at 18 months, and again every 12 months thereafter, and would have those symptoms. Severe stress can also cause that, for instance running out of drinking water for a short time.
