I have to share my story:
When my son started school I put always put a note in his lunchbox. Starting in preschool with pictographs drawn on his napkin (before he could read). I included notes on his napkins in his lunch until he went to middle school (third grade) and he got 'too old" for notes.
When my daughter started preschool I was all ready to carry on the tradition.... The first day I packed her lunch and drew a message on her napkin. The second morning she walked into the kitchen as I was putting the note in her lunchbox. She slapped her hand to her forehead and exclaimed: "Not AGAIN!"
So that ended that. She was 4 years old at the time.
big sigh here...
i put a note in his bento that said I Love You. which i say to him all the time, and signed it mom. he came home that night and said someone had left him a note in his lunch box. i told him it was me, MOM. and he looked at me and said, "oooohhhh" then said, why did you leave me a note?
LOL, oh well.
