Bento Box Fever!

i put a note in his bento that said I Love You. which i say to him all the time, and signed it mom. he came home that night and said someone had left him a note in his lunch box. i told him it was me, MOM. and he looked at me and said, "oooohhhh" then said, why did you leave me a note?

LOL, oh well.

Just wanted to tell you that I enjoy this thread...

I am half Japanese and grew up on Bento's.. (furukaki, musubi, etc,...)

Anyway, I ordered some Tenmari and Clickety Click bento sets for my 3 granddaughters as a Halloween present from Grammie, as I am deployed, and can't be there to see them in their costumed glory!!

I told my daughter to watch for the post man, and get the box before the girls see it..... Too Late!!!!!!!!

The girls, ages 3, 5 and 8.. saw the post man with a box, knew it was from grammie (I buy them stuff online all the time...), and made her rifle through it.... To make a long story short... girls already took their new bento boxes to school!!!

They absolutely loved it!... I knew they would!!

So, tonight, after finally opening up their site (Ichiban), I ordered another bento set for each, and this time... Im hoping, it will be a Halloween present.

Let me ask you this.... has anyone been able to order the men's bento set?? It's been out of stock forever. I was thinking maybe my son in college will use it.... doubtful, but, I'm gonna give it a try...

I don't know if you know this, but Ichiban means #1, ...

Welcome Athena!!! I've had the same experience with the men's bento set. I would LOVE to surprise my husband with it but it is always out of stock.
I've been very happy with the products and service from Ichiban Kan. I'd have to say #1 is pretty accurate IMO!

Hi Athena- welcome to BYC

I have been keeping away from bento supply sites because I really dont NEED more stuff, even though I want all of it!

Sounds like Ichiban has big time turnover, so I guess I would just keep on trying. There are some really cool Halloween bento things out there... *must...stay...off...ebay...*

Agreed! Just looked-no luck!
Does anyone have experience with natural color sandwich boxes? They haven't vented sides and the idea seems to be that the bread won't get soggy and there are separate places to store the sandwich ingredients. Wouldn't you think the bread would dry out?
