Bento Box Fever!

Sterling: I would cave as well- they are great!!! And they use up a whole sandwich with little to no waste

I dont know where you could find something similar- maybe a Michael's??? But odds are that if you search locally, you will end up just burning more money in your gas tank driving around than you would have spent on the ebay order... Just MHO.

Ninjapoodles: So cool that you make soap- I have it on my "try it" list.

Dangerous: Aw, thanks- its so much fun and I find it very relaxing. And spending time on anything that has an edible outcome is my biggest motivation in terms of hobbies...

Yeahhhh... I figured as much. I have tons of cookie cutters for the holidays, since we start making cookies for the 'holidays' in early September.

I'll just grab a few sandwich cutters off ebay. I wanted to mix it up for the kids. DH would settle for just a sandwich. LOL!

I have that! Made DS's sandwich with it on the first day of school. He loves it. I got it at our Big Y grocery store. They had a heart one too but he turned his nose up at that. I also have the Pampered Chef thingy that cuts a circle and crimps the edges.

I'm such a sucker. I bought it on ebay. LOL Next time I'm in the dollar store, I'm going to scope some LARGE cookie cutters. Nothing here's wasted, someone will eat the crust, be it my husband or the dogs.

I'm always looking for inexpensive cookie cutters too. We've got the same solution for crusts here!

I make cold-process soaps from scratch, with lye. I superfat them so that they're really, really mild and gentle. BUT, I do have a fairly strong specialty following among poodle folks, for whom I do M&P in poodle shapes, colored like all the colors of the breed standard, with whatever fragrance oil they like. Those are really popular, because, as we know, dog people are nuts!

Anyone can do it, and everyone makes such different concoctions once they learn the process, that I feel there's room for everyone in the soapmaking community. I am happy to help anyone learn how to do cold process. If you start with melt & pour glycerin, you'll soon be hooked and wanting to move on to "real" soap! I wouldn't say it's "easy," exactly, because there is some fussiness about getting measurements exactly right and figuring the formulas for correct superfatting and liquid discounts, etc., BUT if you can follow, say, a fussy bread recipe, then you can make soap.

Anytime you want someone to walk you through it, just say the word.

My daughter declared this to be "the yummiest lunch ever!"

We'll see how much of it comes back.

raw organic carrots & broccoli, toasted whole wheat pita, hummus
organic Braeburn apple slices & black grapes with cream cheese fruit dip
mini Babybel cheddar wheel

Okay, I'm excited about getting the bento stuff in the mail. I found these divided trays for the kids in the dollar store a few weeks ago, I really need to stop in and pick up more (plus some for the nieces).

It's not in a bento box, but this was lunch today.

Declan took a nap while Kieran ate the same thing, so when he woke up Keej was finishing my chocolate cupcake bowl.
Roasted Vegetable Ritz cracker sandwiches with colby jack cheese.
'Whales' crackers. These kids LOVE goldfish and whales. LOL
Nut & Chocolates trail mix.
Banana Slices.

Wasn't the best day, but they ate the majority of it.
