Color me stupid, but what's tahini? I only make our hummus with chick peas, olive oil, s&p and garlic cloves. DH is a hummus addict.
Yeah, I make it sometimes just like you wrote, above, but with lemon juice too. It tastes good! Sometimes I whip some spinach leaves in there, too, if I'm leaving out the tahini.
Traditional hummus has tahini, which is basically "sesame butter." Just like peanut butter is smooshed up peanuts, tahini is just smooshed up sesame seeds. It's very unappealing to look at (to me), because it's kind of grey.
