Bento Box Fever!

That's what I did too. You'll love it!

LOL, then I'm not alone! I think I am going to like it. I just hope it's not too big or unwieldy for a cooler. I guess it can't be any worse than what I'm already doing!

Shouldn't be. It won't fit in my son's standard kid's lunch box. I bought a bag from reusable bags that was advertised as being the right size. It's not insulated but I was more concerned with it being lead free. I just ordered a box from Jbox for him. I hope the measurements on the website are right. If they are then it will fit in his lunchbox no problem!

I remember that the measurements seemed okay, but it's hard to visualize unless you've actually got it in your hand, you know? And since the one I ordered is flat, rather than all those cute traditional ones that come with little satchels, I was just hopeful it would fit in a cooler.

All those pictures that Ninjapoodles took sure looked cute, and got me all energized about planning and preparing my own lunches, instead of whipping stuff together at the last minute!

The box seems really small when you first get it. I mean REALLY small. And then you see how much food you can pack in there, and it's OK. You just have to learn how to make things the right shape and match the dimensions of the food to the dimensions of the boxes. Also, you can remove some of the inner containers if you need to. You could put a whole sandwich, or a whole salad, in one side, and then use the two smaller containers for "extras," for example.

Thanks for the warning! I'd probably be irritated if you hadn't told me that...BUT, I'm glad to know it'll be small. I like compact things!

P.S. I got the book with my order and I can't wait to get some fresh ideas...

Well, tomorrow morning is my son's first day of 3rd grade *sigh*. I am really happy and a little sad about it. Anyway, just thought I would post another bento. I've realized that I have not been challenging my son's palate with his lunches, so I have made the command decision to do some funky stuff this week!!! Woo HOO!!! This one is another with his fave organic mini veggie egg rolls, a strawberry fan, yet another petit four, yet more goldie crackers, blueberries, a babybel and mint stick. Veggie dippers with a tiny animal container of veggie dip are in the back.

Here is this bento all bagged up and ready to go. There is enough room for a drink in there, usually a juice box of some kind. I am a Nightmare Before Christmas nut. When he is sick of this box, it will be MINE!!!!

Very cool! I saw that set in my searches last week!
Incidently I was in a Hallmark store here in CT and they had a bunch of Nightmare stuff on display!
Your son's lunch looks yummy! Mine asked to buy the school's hotlunch tomorrow. : / I let him this time. It's chicken nuggets, rice, corn on the cob, veggie sticks and fruit cup. Could be worse. Here's a link to the box I ordered for my son:

I wonder if fanning a strawberry would make Bella more likely to eat them. She won't eat them now without a bit of sugar on top.

Tuesday's lunch:

Love the skewered fruit in the silverware spot! My son won't eat strawberries at all. Not even with a little honey or sugar. Nice looking lunch. Can't wait till his box gets here!
