Too funny-I figured out my mistake last night when I was making a hard boiled egg look like a rabbit using a picture in the Manga Cookbook. That would have been too much of a coincidence anyway. Thanks for the correction! The recipe was for rabbit apples!

That's the plan! He's got hard boil eggs that look like a chick and a rabbit, apple slices that look like rabbits, a fruit leather strip, baby carrots, natural cheese puffs, a slice of homemade oatmeal bread with butter (by request) and a Stonyfields Farm yogurt. A lot more food than he usually eats. We'll see what he comes home with for left overs.

Yay! My egg and onigiri molds from Ebay came just now. I HAVE to find quail eggs!! I'll have some when more pullets start laying. Aaah!

LOL, I live on a street called Bella Vista! I want a sign for my gate that says Bella Vista Acre. Not quite an acre but it sounds good!
I tried our local Asian market which is pretty small and they don't have any. We're semi-rural out here. I did find my smallest chicken eggs were too small for the molds so I think I'm okay without the quail eggs. I'd still like to get some quail of my own once I have a place for them to live. I have a response from one of my freecycle ads for a rabbit cage but I don't think it's the outdoor rabbit hutch type thing I want.
I've got some medium sized eggs in the molds now, sushi rice in my steamer and English muffins rising waiting to be grilled. I feel like super mom! I just shooed the neighbor's cat out of the backyard for the second time today. Rescued a welsummer pullet who flew over the fence into a horribly scrabbly part of the yard behind the shed. Seems hubbie started a new wood pile along side the fence and the chickens love to hop up and hang out. Duh! Looks like he'll be moving it! Phew!

we were at an outlet mall this weekend and i stepped into the pottery barn outlet and found this.
the above left is a chicken timer and the rest are ice cream sandwich molds but i figure i can use it for rice balls. go texas!
