Bento Box Fever!

LOL Yeah, they're super tiny. I also have guineas to experiment with. I was thinking hard boiled quails eggs for a side dish, but maybe using the guineas for egg salad and such.

Can you tell me what the size difference between a button and a coturnix egg is? My little guys are about the size of a nickle.

edited because my grammar's atrocious...

Not a clue, sorry--I've never seen a Button egg in person. The eggs we got from Tori are about the size of...a green grape?

I think your bento lunches are so cute! I've always thought about getting a bento box for myself to use for work. Do you guys wrap a scarf around them like they do in Japan (at least I think it's a scarf; maybe someone can clue me in)?

The Ichiban Kan site sells wraps for most of their boxes. They also have insulated bags and that's what I got since I usually can't refrigerate my lunch and my son never can.

Oh and I GOT MY QUAIL today!!!! PC gave me four female and two male coturnix. : ) They're sitting right behind me scratching and makin whatever it is you call the sweet little noise they make!

There's a name for that...it's escaping me right now. We have some little drawstring bags that work for almost all oblong boxes and the triangular ones. The bags keep everything nice and tight. I just actually made my daughter's lunch for the first time in almost a week, since my back's been out. It's still bad, but better enough that I was able to get up and around some. I made applesauce and packed a lunch. Woo-hoo!
