Will your cat be happy in a crate all the time? You’ll probably need a large crate so kitty can have its litter box in there, too.

Again, letting your chicken live outside doesn't mean it can't be your pet, and in the long run it will benefit both you and your chickens

It sounds like OP will be moving into a townhouse. Probably not allowed to have chickens because of space limitations in the yard area.

Idk why though chickens are domestic animals unlike tigers.

So are cows, horses, sheep, goats, sow. But you wouldn’t want them in the living room. (they would block the TV lol)

Medieval Peasants used to raise birds in houses since they couldn’t afford barns, so they laid through the winter because of the light and warmth, unlike those in coops outside. Their houses were part barn, part house. Also, nasty.
Also, they kept pigs in their houses. So they had coffin beds so the pigs wouldn’t eat them while they were sleeping.

I get the Devil’s advocate thing but how about a comparable post medieval era that didn’t end with millions dying from plague, leprosy and famine?
