Best Poultry Spray/Dust

Also saw this one and I asked a lady and she said she uses this one. Mixes it with some water and sprays it on the chickens.

Yes that can be used on chickens or in their coop, once properly diluted down.

Do they actually have mites?

It's not like preventative flea treatment for cats and dogs -- it's only for treating when they actually have mites.

FWIW, not a hijack.

I use SULFUR 95%+ for maintenance against mites; i hope that it is also effective against lice and other nuances but mites have been my focus.

I put it in my dust boxes and in a mesh laundry bag mounted over the pop door opening so that the birds (sometimes) brush it coming and going.

Cheap and from back in the day.

No I just want to be ready when they do so I don’t freak out on what to buy them.

We have a flock and we want to be safe in the future and we don’t want mites in the flock what is the best spray/dust for them?

My suggestion is to not use anything unless you actually have pests. If you try to use something as a preventative then most likely when you do have an issue it won't work because the pests have built up a resistance to it. I do put poultry dust in my nest boxes. Most poultry dust has 0.25% permethrin. I use permethrin. There are other products available but much more expensive and in my opinion permethrin works great. I don't think there is any brand better than the other. It's the active ingredient that counts such as permethrin. For your future reference here is a chart made by a BYC member for the different permethrin strengths for the concentrates.

I keep both dust and liquid on hand.
Dust in winter, liquid in summer.
Keep them stored in a cool, dry, dark place.

This is for permethrin 10. But again I would only treat if there are pests such as mites or lice of a severe infestation or for a normal infestation, not a preventative.

Is hi yield good my cousin uses it for her flock

That's what I use and it's quite inexpensive
