I’ve had two Wyandotte’s and they are very gentle- even with the hens.Hello, I am aware that most roosters are aggressive in nature, but has anyone had any luck with any breed in particular? The best rooster I had was a Dominique, but unfortunately passed away. He was great with my hens and also people.
The Dominique is the one you want around your kids or people coming to visit. They're not aggressive (compared to others) but they will defend their flock .If you're looking for a big rooster he's not for you. They're one of the smallest standard pure bred chickens & its why they're so popular among kids.I’ve had two Wyandotte’s and they are very gentle- even with the hens.
I have no idea if this is true to all but we had one silkie rooster and he turned out to be really aggressive towards our 3 year old. Hope you have good luck with him.Just wanted to add an update… I ended up going for a silkie rooster! So far he’s great with humans and pets and he’s a gentleman to our ladies![]()
