Best way to introduce buff color into a flock? (New chicken breed)

The chick hatched this morning after about 22 hours from when it first broke the egg. We were so nervous that it wouldn't hatch!

As a reference point, here are the baby Yokohamas when we received them at the end of July.

And now, here's the chick! It's not fully dried after almost 10 hours of coming out the egg but we took advantage and took photos while we were transferring it to the brooder.

Buff Ameraucanas exist. That would certainly help establish egg color.
They do! But it'll introduce muffs and beards lol

We've actually gotten very lucky and found a breeder with longtails that lay blue eggs. We purchased a couple of eggs and they should be coming in on Tuesday.

Update on the chicks:

The first chick passed away a couple of days after posting it's picture but now we have 3 chicks from the Buff Rock and Yoko and 1 chick from the Phoenix and the Yoko. Several more chicks are going to hatch this week 👍
