Thank you!!! The plants are all real! He’s called a black orchid, it’s my favorite betta color!
Thankyou!
My life has been kind of crazy since I got him, so he’s not named yet. I’m taking suggestions!!
Bo.. with a long o sound.. short for Black Orchid.. simple yet sweet. :pop
Otherwise.. I usually wait until I see something distinguishing about their character.. Betta are very interactive fish.. so much fun to see them flare their neck fins at my finger or their own reflection and those little tiny fins paddling them around everywhere.. :)

The middle tank with the big driftwood piece is my betta's 20 gallon long tank. I use sponge filters or....sometimes nothing at all lol.
Sponge filters are affordable, easy to maintenance, and won't send your poor betta in a tailspin.

Yeah, they also beg for food and attention all the time. They are just so gosh darn cute.

Ok....does a 10 gallon tank need a stand?????? I'd already be spending about $200 on this just for tank, filter, heater, and LED hood or glass lid+LED light. If the aquarium filled with water would need a stand, I will likely go for a hermit crab because stands are EXPENSIVE.

No, you won't need a stand. As long as you have something in your room that can hold its weight, you'll be fine.

You don't need a stand. (also wow the price. But it will last.:clap)
You can also place it on the floor if you are okay with that but there is still a danger there because of other pets and it is less noticeable so something bad could happen. If you have a cat then it is best to put mesh over it or teach your cat that the fish is not food whether on the floor, countertop, bar, dresser, etc.

Just a warning if you want to get hermit crabs, they are nocturnal and will hide if you turn on the light. My cousin owned some, they stayed in one place for the entire day, the next day they were in a new place.

Also, do you have a PetSmart? I got a 5 gallon and it came with everything but the heater, and I got the heater, gravel, and even some plants, and it was a little over $100 for everything. It was only about $20 more for a 10 gallon. It probably depends on location too, though.
