Bev Davis Marans Question

I've had nothing but good experiances with her. She has always responded to emails from me and been very nice and friendly. I'd do business with her again and am in fact on another waiting list of hers..

When I purchased my stock from Bev a couple years ago I waited a few months. When I spoke to her last week she told me that her list is now up to about 2 years and she is no longer accepting names. I would double check with her to be sure. What a lot of people do not understand is that when dealing with the Marans, it is not just about sending out every single egg you get. Breeders with integrity actually choose what eggs they want going out under their name and only want to send out good quality. This, coupled with the fact that Marans are not very prolific layers, means it can take quite a while to work through a list. I know how difficult it is for me to keep up with my correspondence so I cannot imagine how much time she spends on it.

Plowboy, we all welcome new folks!! But, when you're brand new coming into a forum and posting as you did...it does cause some eyebrows to be raised.

I think you probably have some valid things to say...but maybe you just need to put a little mroe thought into how you say them. Ther'es always a way to get your point across without being harsh.

Again, welcome to BYC - it's a great place. I for one have learned more about chickens than I ever thought possible! And, most of the folks on here are helpful and knowledgeable. Hope you decide to stay!!

Eyebrows just may need to be raised so that the eyes can be opened to what is ahead! I do not beat around the bush. I appreciate your tenderness toward me, and do not mean to lash out at you. As a new member, I suppose I did start out right didn't I? LOL!

I do understand...believe me!! Also remember there are two sides to every story, and one of the parties to your issue is not a BYC member, so it hardly seems like a fair discussion.

I'd suggest just not posting if the topic doesn't interest you, or you are "put out" by it.

There's lot of friendly folks on here who know tons about chickens...and other poultry for that matter. It's GREAT to have an opinion, for sure. Sorry if I've upset you in any way, that wasn't my intention! Please stay & hang with us awhile!
