Last time I cut a chick off heat early at 4 weeks, it died due to chilling.
You have to wean them off. By 4 weeks, especially in July your brooder temperature and outside temperatures should be similar by 3-4 weeks. Aren't you using a heat plate? They will probably wean themselves off it faster.
 
Hmmm? Something else wasn't right.
My grandpa forced me to take him outside earlier then I wanted. He said if it starts to crow, it goes outside.

Here he is a week before he was sent outside.

It was either, September, or October when this happened.
 
He was all alone? I'd of died too!
Yes, he was my sister's chick. The first Mille Fleur D'Uccle X Silver Duckwing OEGB. He had older friends that were ready to go out before him. They were 3 weeks old when he joined them once he hatched. They went out at 6 1/2 weeks all feathered out, no problems acclimating to temps.
