big big egg :)

i am so proud of my girls today my warren saphire laid and big egg that is 108g - i think that works out at about 3.8oz
i will have to try and get a picture tonight when i get home that poor girl needs a treat
has anyone had big egs and if so what were they i would love to know

Goodness! I got a 100g egg once. When I showed it to some chicken owner friends of mine one guy said "I didn't know you had a duck!"

was it normal on the inside? what type of bird laid it?
i've had a 93g before but it was just a normal egg on the inside . im hoping this is a big one inside !

It was one of my Lohman Silver (battery) hens who laid that one. I got them at POL and their first eggs were small, then huge double yolkers then normal, until I got that big one. It was a double yolk. I was hoping for one of those rare triple yolkers!

My RIR has been laying in the mid-40 gram range. the other day she laid a 69gram egg. I thought THAT was huge. 108gram! wow!

i got my second "normal" looking egg from her today usually they are largish they usually are about 85g and look a little stretched but today i got a normal looking egg i ill have to weigh that tonight and see what te difference is ( and get a picture) i forgot last night !

Sumi i would love a double yolker i have never seen one for my self yet and really would love to you ust have been proud to have a double! bet it tasted lovely

Call your local NP They did a story when my SLW laid an egg this size. Made front page! Our NP focuses in Moncton NB -population is 150,000+ people. It was really awesome to see
