GREAT NEWS!
Big Ethel is completely back to normal with absolutely NO signs of seizures or abnormal activity. She is no longer getting anything other than regular chick starter with the occasional treat of wheat germ, flax seed, fresh grass/hay, carrot peelings, and a rare egg shell dropped in for all the girls to enjoy.
Tonight they're going out in the coop and outdoor pen with our older girls; we sneak them in the coop after dark so there's no pecking or bullying of the younger kids.
After about a week of learning where "home base" is, we'll let them free range together around the farm.
It's fun for all as they explore their new, enlarged universe and learn from the older ladies where to take a dust bath, find good grubs, and how not to get lost. I'm looking forward to seeing Big Ethel get out there with her little flock and we hope she'll continue to do well outside.
Can't wait to get them out of the house! The weather has been cold and rainy, so this warm spell is a good time to make the transition.
