Big Red is getting frostbite!

Yeah i take everything people say about roosters an throw it out the window. To me they are like any other animal some are friendly so are not. Same with hens . I know i have to many roosters for the size of my flock but they get along fine and (all my roosters were together before i got them.) Other than pecking order and mating . My roosters are more scared of me and run away. But Now that its colder they are slower an easier to pick up an handle. I watched a video of what this guy does with his roosters to make them more submissive an friendly so far it works good for me. An i can actually pet my big mr.roo the dad. And luckily i dont have a ban on them where i live. And ill keep you guys posted. Thank you.

So i wasnt able to build something for big red in time an he got hurt pretty bad or at least thats what it looked like a blood bath! But he is safe an sound inside for the past few days. I plan to keep him until its warmer or just when spring hits. I built a big box coop in my basement for him an a hen i have inside. He wont mate with her luckliy sinnce she is hurt as well but they get along beautiful. I am thinking of trying to rehome this guy in the spring with my young leg horn hen. Hes a handsome well behaved boy and acts more like a hen if that makes sense. The two of them need to be in a flock more theyre size. And how do you get to the maine forum?

Very handsome. An ive put nothin on him. I have just kept him inside for now he would of been fine along if the daddy roo didnt go after him when mating. Nothing turned black just the tips of the comb are pale color.
