We found lice on one of our new hens. This is all the farm store had in stock and said it’s their usual recommendation for chickens.
How do I figure out dosage?

Can you get permethrin poultry dust, or permethrin flea spray for dogs? Injectable ivermectin is serious overkill for lice..

I think the other consideration is that you also need to treat the enclosure, which the Permethrin spray and dust seem to do quite effectively... having read a number of other recent posts, I use the spray and have not had any bugs in or on my crew. Good luck !!!

Old thread but in case anyone else goes searching for Bimectin… I just wanted to mention that my vet recommended to go with this when I mentioned it was only this or pour-over cattle ivermectin available at the local feed store. She said to apply it topically on the back of the neck with a dosage of 0.1ml per bird for my flock.
