Birchen Marans Thread

Sadly, I lost my best colored ladies, but since they are his daughters, I'm sure I can keep trying until I get what I am after. When it is daytime here again, I'll go get some pictures of the cockerels.

I like the color of his hackel pure Silver with a thin flames.

his pullet have sublime silver hackle ,hard to beat in the show ring.
I like her black too pure free from mossyness .

looking forward to see your photos I like a marans photos a lot .

Here is my second best for this year for pullets. I'm pretty happy with her, but I am still sad that the raccoon took my best girl.

All 3 of my cockerels that bred without the sprigs are mossy, and 2 have some copper bleedthrough on the wing bow. I almost feel like trying again next spring, since my 4th choice, the best one, also got nabbed. This year was hard on my Marans.

silvery ears tufts.

he s a keeper for sure . and he will put silver hackle on his girls.

she have a nice hackle not pure silver yet or it is a sun ( I get that all the time when i take photos)

The silver color is harder to breed than the comb .

to get ready of the gold hint ( straw type) is very hard Focus on that first .

fix the silver first .you have a nice colored rooster . Do the comb later . it is easy .

you have a nice Birchen good working subject .
