bird asleep in coop, might have gotten too cold

I'd wager the worm isn't alive.

His crop did feel liquidy after the ordeal, and it was empty before hand. I felt something hard earlier, but I can't confirm if it was his crop or not.
As he was vomitting, I could only describe the event as a seizure.

I lost a beloved pullet months back and the way you described your guy dying, was painfully exact as to my precious girl. It was quite traumatic as i was holding her as this started and she died. I couldn't make myself do a home necropsy on her and the lab wouldn't let me send her body to them, even though i stored her body correctly. I did end up having to treat her flock for coccidiosis after her passing, as i found blood in the stool of her flockmates. I thought she was egg bound initially but eventually figured out that she wasn't. I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to you.

Im sorry to hear that. Were you ever able to figure out what took your pullet?

I completely get it... looked up vet bills and nearly had a heart attack. If you can't afford it as it is ridiculously costly maybe do a home surgery if you have the heart to... I don't think I could with my chooks :(
yeah, I don't know if I have the heart for it... As much as I want to find a more definitive answer, it would take me a bit to muster up the strength...

Well, not 100% sure but some of my favorite folks here on BYC and I believe it was possibly "necrotic enteritis", which is an advanced condition of coccidiosis. I didn't notice anything abnormal in the stools of her or her flock, until i was treating my beautiful girl as egg bound and inserted some lubricant into her vent and blood clots came out. After her passing, i kept a very close eye on the stools of her flockmates. A few days later I discovered a tiny bit of possible blood in one of their stools. They were treated with corid and sulfa.
I wish you the very best and hope you find the cause before any other birds become sick.
