I am not sure where I should post this.
I was away for a few days and I had a friend keep an eye on my animals, 34 chickens, 10 guineas, 2 parrots and 3 cats. What would you give him for helping out. He has chickens himself but he never goes away and he only has 8-10 birds, so I can't reciprocate. He has done this on the spur of the moment more then once. He is a good friend of my husband too, but they do the borrow, trade thing, with tools, etc. I was thinking a gift card to TSC or Lowes but how much, I don't want give to much so he doesn't expect it all the time. I don't want to sound cheap either. Help a Chicken Mom out! Thanks! Tricia

When we go away we tell my in laws that they can keep all the eggs.

I would probably do like a $30 gift card. I am cheap though.

Sounds like he is a gem. Do you think he would travel to CA? I would take him out to a nice dinner as a thank you, or find out what he likes to eat and treat him to a fabulous meal at your house. (if you cook) Personally, I like the idea of doing something for someone, rather than a gift of just $$.
