I’d say both owls are barred owls, adults or almost there. Awesome to see them in the day like that. The one in the second pic definitely looks a bit disheveled. Maybe you caught him or her drying off from a bath :p

I also think the the dark bird in the swamp is probably an anhinga. They’re awesome - like a heron and cormorant combined.

I’ll try to take pictures of the birds near my house if I can find them. I know that they are there because I can hear them.

Blue Jays are my favorite from the poll because they are tough as nails. While most of the birds get the heck out of Vermont before winter starts, the Blue Jays remain.

I love Ravens for their intelligence, but I don’t like when they harass other birds, like Bald Eagles.

Of the non Corvid birds I love:

1) Robins, Canada Geese, and Mallards because their arrival means spring has come (hopefully, they are on their way now).

2) Scarlet Tanagers and Indigo Buntings for their beauty.

3) Northern Flickers because they are beautiful and they eat ants. I hate ants.

Here are some pictures I took, sorry that most are bad, over half of them were far away. I think the iridescent one is a crow, blackbird, or raven. He actually let me take pictures of him so when some of the cantaloupe I was eating fell I put it on top of the trash can for him because he was nice. Sorry some of them just look like generic birds, but if you know what they are please tell me. Some are of the same birds.

My dad might let me get this thing called bird buddy, and I have confirmed that I have at least 1 owl, 1 bat, 3 Mourning Doves (At least 1 male and I think a female) (One seen making a nest), 3 Cardinals, 1 Male Red Bellied Woodpecker, and maybe some eastern bluebirds. Male mourning doves have blue on the top of their heads and red feet, and females are more brown and have pink feet.
